CPD-Accredited UKATA Asbestos Awareness Course

Asbestos is an extremely dangerous substance often found in older buildings where it was used for insulation and fireproofing. Seeing that it can cause serious health problems and permanent illness, such as mesothelioma, the use of asbestos was banned in 1999, but it is still present in many older buildings.

Under The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, if you are working in an environment where you are likely to disturb asbestos materials, then you must be aware of, and fully trained in, the dangers and correct safety practices.

UKATA training is universally recognised as being the industry standard, and this two-hour Asbestos Awareness Course Online is a valid, convenient method for initial training in asbestos risks or as a refresher.

Once you successfully complete the UKATA Asbestos Awareness Training online, you will receive a downloadable certificate which is valid for 12 months.

Please note that this course is designed to raise awareness of the dangers of asbestos; it is not suitable for preparing students to work with Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACMs).

Who is this UKATA Asbestos Awareness Course for?

In the UK, it is a legal requirement for anyone who might come into contact with asbestos materials to be sufficiently trained in safety practices and precautions before they carry out any work on-site. This online awareness asbestos training course is designed to enable delegates to recognise ACMs and protect themselves if asbestos is found. It does not, however, train delegates to work with asbestos – more extensive training is needed if this is the case.

Even if you have previous asbestos awareness training, it can still be useful to take a refresher course, especially as legislation can change and technology advances.
