A Fire Blanket is made up of highly resistant materials, it has two layers of woven glass-fibre complete with inner layer of fire retardent film.
They are most likely to be used to throw around a person whose clothes are on fire, to wrap around someone protectively who needs to pass through an inflamed area to get to safety or to effectively smother small fires.
